Red grouse from the Yorkshire moors

As we look back at the 'Glorious Twelfth' we herald the start of Grouse season. Our wild grouse are sourced from Grouse shoots on the Yorkshire moors, on some of the UK's most wonderfully conserved estates. By managing moorland, landowners and gamekeepers act as the wardens of the landscape, respecting nature and maintaining biodiversity whilst offering a positive social and economic local impact. 

Inhabiting moorlands throughout the year, red grouse exhibit territorial behaviour and rarely move during their lifetime. Given favourable circumstances and weather conditions, they can reproduce abundantly. However, due to their ground-nesting habits, they are especially susceptible to predators, diseases, adverse weather, and habitat loss. As a result, safeguarding this species becomes a challenging yet highly significant endeavour.
