The estate is owned by the Marquess Townshend, who passed on the baton to his son Viscount Tom Raynham. Raynham was the birthplace of the famous four-course rotation and the first Marquess, Turnip Townshend was instrumental in the agricultural revolution. Passionate about sustainable agriculture and livestock, Tom hired his stock manager Chris to shape his herd of pure-blood Aberdeen Angus cattle, with the herd now touching 600 head at certain times of the year. The cattle graze the parkland of the picturesque estate, along with the rich water meadows of river Wensum, which has an SSSI status in its own right.
