Prepared in-house by our butchers using free-range British pork, this sausage meat is available in two traditional styles.
Our Country Style sausage meat is lightly seasoned, allowing the quality of the pork to take centre stage and making it an excellent base for adding your own herbs, spices or fruit. The Cumberland Style is more boldly seasoned, with black pepper to the fore, giving it a fuller, more distinctive flavour.
The pork comes from Hampshire cross Duroc and Large White pigs reared outdoors in Suffolk and on the South Downs, selected for their excellent flavour and eating quality.
Ideal for stuffing, sausage rolls, meatballs or shaping into your own sausages, both varieties are prepared for good texture and consistency.
Supplied in 500g tubes.
HG Walter recommends that all meat products are cooked thoroughly.
Instructions: For best results grill from fresh for 16-18 mins on a medium heat. Turn occasionally. Check product is piping hot before serving.
We have given you these cooking instructions as a guide only.
Our main pig breed is a Hampshire cross Duroc. These pigs are crossed due to their ability to withstand the British weather, but also for their fat covering and tender meat-eating qualities.
The pigs are free-range and are born and spend their whole lives outside, overlooking the South Downs and the Brighton coastline. They are fed on a natural diet, free of growth promotors or growth hormones, that consists primarily of cereal (wheat and barley), with minerals and vitamins making up the rest.
